Brief Synopsis of Research: The thesis “based on the cost-quality control of industrial design knowledge management” mainly discusses the industrial design knowledge management system for the cost-quality improvement. It proposes that industrial design not only involves much complex knowledge, but also a continuous process of knowledge transformation and knowledge innovation. The thesis proposes that the industrial design knowledge management includes two aspects: innovation management and designer management. Several functions of the industrial design knowledge management and transformation process mechanism are studied. The thesis also presents some novel methods on industrial design images clarity quality evaluation using non-subsampled contourlet, industrial design image retrieval using support vector machines, industrial design image retrieval based on non-subsampled contourlet transform and neural networks.
